my lilac Fjallraven Kanken : a special kind of gift. I had adored and admired this brand of backpacks for quite awhile, especially appreciating the images I had seen of adornments of pins and patches, a sort of customization, letting a passerby know a little bit about you. Plus, I really needed a place to put my small, but growing, collection of my own pins. The arrival of this backpack was a sort of lagniappe for me because it marked the beginning of the summer of 2018, the end of my sophomore year in high school, which also marked the beginning of a new sort of chapter of the beginning of the end as colleges become a main priority, and it also acted as a sort of memorabilia of my Boston trip, the first adventure I took my Kanken on with me. I cannot wait to break this backpack in even more, add more pins, and carry it with me as I go on more adventures! Keep reading for a lil tour of my Fjallraven Kanken and what I normally keep in it for various scenarios like keeping me occupied on a plane, passing the day at my parents' office, or just exploring!
1. DISPOSABLE FILM CAMERA
A recent addition to my bag, I received this camera as a part of my birthday and I cannot wait to capture all the tiny moments with this film. I treasure sorts of nostalgic pieces like this one and have been wanting my own for awhile. Plus, I love how small it is compared to my equally loved, but much larger, Polaroid camera, so it's perfect for travel.

2. BULLET JOURNAL
One of my favorite possessions along with my poetry journal, I like to keep my bullet journal on hand in case of a need to doodle, write down blog ideas, update my calendar, etc. One of my most cherished creative outlets along with this blog, I never know when I will suddenly be in the mood to bullet (p.s. stay tuned for a bullet journal tour coming soon!).

3. ADULT COLORING BOOK
Adult coloring books are a fantastic way to pass the time because if you are like me, once you start one, you cannot stop. Finishing a page is honestly one of the most satisfying feelings ever, and the same goes for completing the coloring-in of a piece of that page. I do not know if adult coloring books are as much as the rage as they were about a year or so ago, but I still enjoy them and find them just as appealing (and they photograph great, too!).

4. MILDLINER MARKER PEN SETS
I usually keep two of these aesthetically pleasing marker packs in my bag for bullet journaling and coloring, courtesy of my best friend. They are great because they are double-sided with both a highlighter and marker side depending on which style you are more going for or prefer to write with. I am looking to buy some more of these soon because of how portable, handy, and pretty they are.

5. A BOOK
I am literally always in the process of reading a book, so obviously I always must have one on hand. Lucky for me, if you give me about ten minutes or so to get engrossed in a book, I will be stuck in it for a good long while, which passes the time easily, sometimes to the point where I will not put the book down until I finish it. Right now I am reading "Never Let Me Go," by Kazuo Ishiguro, which I picked for one of my required summer reading books and am currently enjoying. It has a very unique plot line that is dissimilar to anything I have read before, yet is very intriguing and has an extremely deep and emotional underlying plot line. I am also currently reading "The Secret," by Rhonda Byrne, which explores the law of attraction and manifestation, two things I have recently become interested in learning more about.

6. MY PINS
Although this does not exactly fall under the category of what is in my kanken, I still love my pins and wanted to share them as well. I do not have tooooo many right now, but I am certainly working on building my collection to best represent myself and my interests. Currently I have a lot of pins from The 1975's merchandise shop (all of the round circle pins and the "what a shame" pin), plus avocado, pancakes, and "cool times" pins from Urban Outfitters.

7. MY COMPUTER
An obvious necessity + earbuds + my phone.

8. A SWEATSHIRT
I usually get cold pretty easily so this is an absolute essential for me. Here are a couple of my favorites that I like to rotate in my bag (peep the One Tree Hill inspired one).
