Out of everything I can think of existing in this world, one of my most treasured sentiments is music.
From the lyrics that genuinely understand you, to the voices that you cannot describe, and the artists that you seem to feel deep within your soul, music contains a lisztomanian effect that leaves our minds musing, our hearts feeling, and our ears wanting more.
Below are my current choice songs for the months of September and October 2017, in no particular order (p.s. stay tuned for a poem at the end) . . .
1. In Motion ;; Allday feat. Japanese Wallpaper A song that may just end up becoming one of my lifetime favorites. Between Allday's clean Australian accent, the smooth, gentle instrumentation, and the beautiful chorus, this song leaves me feeling light and dreamy about existing loudly. "She seems so unstoppable in motion."
2. Girl In The Sun ;; Allday feat. Brady James After a friend told me this song reminded her of me, I listened to it only to discover a new favorite. Something about the lyrics and beat leave me in a mood that is none other than happy.
3. Jocelyn Flores ;; XXXTentacion The beginning and end of this song, showcasing X's voice and a raw guitar instrumental, drew me in from the beginning. The fervent, real lyrics unveil personal conflicts that are unlike most other rap songs.
4. That Far ;; 6lack Being one of my all time favorite artists, 6lack and his release of 'That Far' went to my favorites list quickly. The catchy beat and truthful lyrics stand out and encourage you to not be diverted by those who want to minimize your success.
5. Someday ;; Mimi Imparting her relaxing ukulele instrumentals on this song, Mimi's beautiful, scenic imagery in her lyrics define chill and, for me, bring to mind nostalgia of the past.
6. Paris ;; The 1975 If you know me, you know The 1975 is my favorite artist, band, and has released most of the songs that are lifetime favorites for me. I recently re-fell in love with this audibly gorgeous song. Besides describing my favorite city, this song is one that leaves me unable to describe how beautifully stunning it is.
7. Greatest Love Story ;; Lanco A song for falling in love.
8. Dancing Queen ;; ABBA My favorite book, "Firefly Lane," is written in parts titled as song names, and is how i originally came to adore "Dancing Queen." Although this song reminds me of personal meaning, it is a timeless wonder of a song that imprints reminiscent images on my mind.
9. Face Like Thunder ;; The Japanese House A band that was recommended to me as similar to the 1975, The Japanese House fondly became one of my new favorite bands. Although lyrics like "baby, you've got a face like thunder" would normally bring to mind images of anger, the upbeat, yet chill melody of this song creates a unique, alluring sound.
10. Still ;; The Japanese House There is just something about The Japanese House's sound that makes you fall in love with all of their songs.

and so she listened, as honey trilled from her ears. warm words and sweet sensations, a renaissance of tones. "this," she said, "is music."
