I like to think of myself as an old soul. I live for antique cars, like the ones featured here, music from the 70's, 80's, and 90's, vintage clothes that inspire retro feels, and pretty much any sentiment from the past, as shown through my wide and varying collection of vinyls and my undying love for retro places like pastel diners, milkshake counters, and jukeboxes.
Moral of the story is, I love the past. There have been countless times when I have wished I was born when my mom and dad were teenagers. I long to be able to walk and bicycle to my friend's house, not have the ever increasing academic stress we have today, wait by the phone for calls, and send letters instead of texts. I want to drive a stick shift pickup truck, pop a quarter in a jukebox, and sip milkshakes at diners on Friday nights. But most of all, I want the simplicity of it all. Back then, no one's mind was jammed with Instagram feeds and Snapchat stories, nor did people text and tweet. They had genuine conversations, formed genuine friendships, and lived their life without worrying how it would look on their feed.
So if you want to try to be an old soul with me, then let's do it! I want to live again, the old way :)
